Biography

Society often thinks people are products of their environment. As a young woman growing up in a poverty-stricken single parent home, Dr. Shree Walker refused to be victim of circumstance. Being the eldest of six children and the backbone of her family, she has been faced with many obstacles. Without any heroes to look to, she had to become her own. Dr. Walker was determined not live as a victim but to help others to overcome their circumstances and rise through resiliency through success.

Raised in a poverty- stricken, single-parent household as the eldest of six children, Dr. Shree Walker refused to be confined by her circumstances. With no role models to look up to, she became her own hero—overcoming trauma, hardship, and adversity with grace, grit, and determination. Today, she is an accomplished author, educator, and motivational speaker who brings real-life experience, deep empathy, and strategic insight to every space she leads. Dr. Walker is known for her ability to connect deeply with individuals from all walks of life— those who have survived, struggled, and are still standing. She is a reminder that there is life, purpose, and power beyond the pain. Described as sunshine in a hurricane, Dr. Walker shows up to transform lives and shift the atmosphere. 

She is the founder of Resilient Walker, an initiative dedicated to building emotional intelligence, healing, and purpose through resiliency education for diverse learners. Her leadership has extended across major educational systems, having served as the Director of Strategic Leadership Development for Five Keys Programs and Schools, Director of Special Education and SELPA in Los Angeles County, and Director of Section 504 and Special Populations for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. She has also been an Adjunct Professor at Belmont University and Fisk University and served on the Leadership Committee for the Sexual Assault Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dr. Walker is a practical visionary—grounded in policy and inspired by possibility. She designs and implements sustainable educational strategies to support diverse learners and ensure equity, stability, and resilience in educational settings.

Her academic accomplishments include:

 Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction – Tennessee State University

 Education Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision – Tennessee State University

 Master’s in Special Education – Lipscomb University

 Bachelor of Arts in History – Fisk University

 Participant in the Public Education Leadership Project – Harvard University

 Recognized in America’s Who’s Who for 2024–2025

She is a proud author of Resilient Walker (2018), Resilient Walker: Resiliency Guide: A companion study to the Resilient Walker memoir (2020), Trees, Dreams, Balloons & Things! (2023), Secret Keeper (2023), and Educate ME: Changing Ourselves, Transforming Schools, and Inspiring Others (2024).

Dr. Walker brings over two decades of impactful leadership, with specialized skills in:

 Interpreting and applying complex legal frameworks (504, ADA, IDEA, Title IX, and policies involving DCFS, RTFs, JDCs, Home Instruction)

 Designing trauma-informed, culturally responsive educational models

 Conducting investigations and responses for OCR, due process, and compliance complaints

 Leading strategic leadership development and compliance-centered training

 Rapidly establishing trust with learners, educators, families, and stakeholders

 Cultivating mission-driven partnerships with schools, agencies, and community groups

 Certified Resilience Trainer in Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART)

 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate – Cornell University
